A day of rumours. Including a slight link to Austin and a report that Veltman is in the medical stages, according to a Dutch paper that doesn't exist.
And of corse the previously mentioned 'Player out of favour at team that came second in domestic league and is too expensive for Bologna has a deal agreed with Norwich' (Quintero)
And Destro too.

All these rumours of Quintero, Destro, Veltman are all rubbish, I can't see one of these players coming to norwich, I would love to see it happen but the fact is non of these types of players won't be coming to Norwich,
We are desperate for a couple of defenders and a striker and these are the types of player we need to stay in this league but all it has ever been all transfer window is a rumour it gets the fans excited and then nothing happens.
I'd love for Norwich to splash the cash on Veltman and van djik that would improve our defence massively, I still rate hooper and think he can do the job up front so I'm not as worried in that area but I would possibly offer QPR 10m for Austin and throw in grabban who I like but needs to many opportunities for a goal and he won't get that in this league.

Norwich City have bid 4.5m for Destro. An obvious feint IMHO Destro rejected West Ham not long ago and Norwich have publicaly stated that they want British Football experience. City know Destro won't come or that their bid will be rejected. I wish the board would stop mucking about and get the manager what he wants and quickly before we cough up more points to our relegation rivals. WBA can find £12m for a striker why can't we?

Apparent link, through the sun, demonstrating our interest in Kara from Belgian club Genk. Considering the likelihood of van Dijk slimming, I wouldn't mind this capped Senagelese international, who is only 25.

Kara would be a good signing for us if we could make it happen. West Ham tried to land him last year on a loan with a permanent deal after he had proved himself. The fee was rumoured to be 4.5 m.hChelsea were also connected with him as are Newcastle. He would get game time ahead of Turner and Bennett neither of whom are international players unlike our first choice pairing.

It looks like Newcastle are going with Mbemba as their CB signing with a fee agreed. The player needs medical and personal terms. We are rumoured to also be interested due to Congo connection. It is doubtful as we would have made a matching bid if this were the case.

A brief link, along with a few other clubs, to Islam Slimani of FC Sporting Lisbon. Think that he would be a strong signing, especially if the wolf went the other way.

This player isn't necessarily going to make it in the Prem but he might still be a good signing.
The Portuguese league is dominated by three clubs; Porto, Sporting and Benfica. If he was scoring at this level for one of the lesser teams in the league then it would be a clearer indicator of his capabilities.
Goal scoring rates don't tend transfer between leagues either. In most cases lesser leagues to the prem tend to create flattering goal to game ratios so when players move to the prem expect a lower hit rate.
This player does have an OK hit rate at National level of 15 in 37 though, so whilst our very own Kyle Lafferty's hit rate differential at club and national is wide, Slimani's hit rate is consistent on a club vs country basis which makes him worth a look.
Also rumoured to be linked to Tottenham (back in January), Leicester (last year) and Fenerbache (this summer) with prices quoted as high as £15m but expected to be £10-11m.
With Van Persie's recent signing by Fenerbache may rule them out of the contest.

correct, get rid of the wolf!!! he wasn't bothered with us when we wnet down, now Lisbon won't pay him what he wants as he's not good enough and low and behold now we are up again he wants to play!!!!! he's a disgrace in my opinion and exactly the sort of player we don't want, get rid, ill pay for his flight myself

Woah.
I mean, midfield is crowded but if that isn't a marquee, then I don't know what is. We will put so many goals in that there will be no need for defence.

Firstly this link is so breif it is very unlikely to happen.
Secondly, not only does he have a Bojan comparison on his Transfermarkt page, but he mainly plays as a second striker or winger.
All in all, we won't get him, but if we did - it's not bad.
Bad strikers? Like who? Murray, granted would rather have Glen from down the pub, but who else? Bamford? Jelavic?
